Vietnamese startup Kamereo has raised the US $4.6 million in a Series A round of funding. The funding was co-led by conglomerate CPF Group, Quest Ventures, and Genesia Ventures. The startup is an online platform for F&B companies to optimize their sourcing and purchasing processes.
The funds are raised for the startup to expand its team and operations to build a new warehouse management system for daily operations. The team is expanding in Hanoi next year.
In the long term, Kamereo aims to become a one-stop procurement platform for F&B businesses.
A portion of the funds will also be utilized to upgrade its website and mobile app for user experience.
The platform was launched in 2018 by Taku Tanaka with a vision to redefine the food business. He was a COO at renowned restaurant chain Pizza 4Ps where he began to overcome the problems with the food supply chain’s efficiency.
The startup claims it has grown by 15 percent every month in the last 12 months despite mobility restrictions and the temporary closure of some businesses.
The startup has over 400 active customers who buy regularly from the platform. The current team is about a hundred employees.
