Ladies Who Lead raised $1 M Pre-series A funding from Nithin Kamath’s Rainmatter
Ladies Who Lead (LWL), a members-only platform, has raised $1 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by Rainmatter, Nithin Kamath’s investment firm, with participation from Jayant Davar’s Family Office.
According to a press release from the platform, the funding will allow LWL to grow its network of women leaders and professionals in a variety of industries, providing them with resources and mentorship.
Ladies Who Lead (LWL), a members-only platform created in 2021 by Aditya Ghosh and Aabha Bakaya, aims to elevate and support the voices of women in leadership. Through its Titan and LWL Members clubs, the platform gives women access to professional development opportunities, exclusive networking, and mentorship. It seeks to create a fair workplace environment where women can flourish and lead change.
Creating professional growth opportunities through curated workshops, networking, mentorship programs, upskilling programs, and social events, LWL claims to have been actively forming an inclusive space for women entrepreneurs, professionals, and veterans across industries. It tackles important obstacles to leadership growth, including inequality in compensation, restricted networking opportunities, mentorship inaccessibility, and the need for women professionals to have a better work-life balance.
Only 18% of senior leadership positions in India are held by Indian women, and only 35% of them are employed, compared to the global average of 50%, according to market research.
