Incubees spoke to the Managing Director of Lumisynch Kailesh Ved, where he mentioned several details about the start-up he runs- smart homes, smart buildings, and smart workspaces. He has taken up several projects across the globe. The mission is to provide a scalable solution that combines intelligence, simplicity, and affordability and the vision being- committed to bringing smart living to the world and making them affordable for everyone.
Incubees: Tell about your journey and the thought process behind LUMISYNCH?
Kailesh Ved: Having been in the Home and Office Automation Industry past 20+ years and 10 years in IT prior to that. The Automation Industry has been attracting me and that’s why I changed my career from an IT business to Automation. During the journey, I met and executed several projects for Smart Homes, Smart Buildings, and Smart WorkSpaces in India and a few more countries globally. Looking at the expensive equipment and the preparations that are required for traditional Automation and then the complications that used to arrive post-sales made me wonder why not user-friendly, sustainable, and economical automation solution. The solution that one can use with the existing Wi-Fi router and as simple that can be installed by an average Electrician!!
That’s how Brand Lumisynch was born.

Incubees: Tell us about the range of products LUMISYCH offers.
Kailesh Ved: As of today we offer a complete range of Automation Products needed for a Home or a Commercial Establishment. We have a wide range of SKU’s products ranging from Door Locks, Security Systems, Light Controls, Dimmers, Infrared Controllers, Lighting Products like multi-colored LED Bulbs, Led Strip Lights Led Fixtures, Air conditioner and Geyser Controllers, Sockets, Switches for existing Curtain and Blind Motors, Curtain Motors and Blind Motors and few more and counting. All our products are Wi-Fi enabled, Work with Apps compatible with IOS and Android devices, and are IoT enabled that works on voice commands by Amazon Alexa and Google Home.
Incubees: What makes your product/services unique? Also, what competition do you see in India and globally?
Kailesh Ved: Our products pass the highest quality standards and are Scratch Resistant, Water Resistant, and most of them are made from FR grade fire-resistant materials. We offer the products not just as a product but offer a complete solution to either a new Project or a Retrofit. The products are backed by a company that has experience of 20 years in the Domain. I do see competition from the mid-level electrical brand manufacturers in India but the demand for the products is going to be huge so I think everyone will have their fair market share.
Incubees: There is a huge competition for ‘Smart Technology’, what makes your services/products unique?
Kailesh Ved: Our products are unique as they pass thru a series of quality checks and are globally certified. Apart from the products as stated earlier have a backing of a dedicated experience founder who understands the consumer and the industry. Hence being able to propose the right product and a range that few can match.
Incubees: What challenges do you face as a start-up?
Kailesh Ved: Being a start-up does not make people confident at the first sight. They are scared to invest in a new brand but when assured things come in motion. The major hurdle faced is for financing and funding like as of now I’ve been running the company on my own funds and a few borrowed from Banks as personal loans and family and friends. The limited capital becomes a challenge for us to decide whether to carry stocks or to spend on marketing or to manage the other day-to-day expenses. Hence our growth becomes sustained and limited but as we are enrolling more and more dealers and distributors, I am sure that the future will be slower but better and steadier. The more refusals from banks and private investors come, the more it strengthens my determination.
Incubees: Tell us about your team and what motivates them?
Kailesh Ved: The team is a limited one and the motivation we all share is that we learn from Companies and founders like Apple, Jack Ma, and Uber as we share the same vision and mission. Plus, we offer our products that are IoT enabled and run on App on both the IOS and Android platforms. The team is my family and I am not looking at a traditional business but a corporate company that will have a leader amongst my team to run the company in the long run.
Incubees: What would you like to say to upcoming Entrepreneurs?
Kailesh Ved: Never lose hope and as a wise man once said that Salary is the compensation paid to kill your Dreams. Follow your passion and come forward and become an entrepreneur the road is not a smooth ride, but in the end, just stick on and be focused. I’ve faced many a resistance but my focus and vision have kept the lamp of my dreams burning. The Indian government has made policies and formation of an easy process for business and many friendly schemes are offered. So who’s next???
