Microdrama platform MiniPix raises Rs 2.4 Cr Pre-seed funding from PedalStart

In a pre-seed funding round headed by startup accelerator PedalStart, Bengaluru-based MiniPix, a mobile-first entertainment platform specializing in short-form regional micro-dramas for Bharat audiences, has raised Rs 2.4 crore. The founders of Route Mobile, Sandip and Rajdip Gupta, participated in the round as angel investors and venture catalysts through SanRaj Family Ventures Pvt. Ltd.
The money will be used to develop a core execution-focused team, expand the production of excellent regional content, and improve product-market fit.
MiniPix, which was established in June 2025, is developing a high-end platform with a focus on brief, vertical micro-dramas intended for viewers in tier-II and tier-III India. The startup works in the rapidly expanding short-form digital entertainment market.
Redseer Strategy Consultants predicts that India’s micro-drama and interactive content formats will expand at a 50–70% CAGR due to the country’s growing smartphone penetration, cheap data, and growing demand for regional-language content.
Over 100,000 app downloads, over 20,000 paying subscribers, and over 3-million-episode views—or more than 35,000 hours of content streamed—have all occurred within six months of the platform’s launch.
The company claims to have generated over Rs 3 crore in recurring revenue annually.
Over the next two years, MiniPix intends to expand into five more regional languages, with a current focus on Bhojpuri micro-dramas. As part of its growth roadmap, the company is aiming for ₹6 crore in annual recurring revenue by March 2026 and is investigating the selective use of AI-led tools to increase efficiency across content production and platform operations.
