Mistry Ventures led $4.5 M Series A funding raised by KisanKonnect

Mistry Ventures led a $4.5 million Series A funding round for KisanKonnect, a direct-to-consumer (D2C) brand. Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty, VC-Grid, Vishwang Desai, Times Group’s Brand Capital, and well-known family offices also participated in the round.

A pre-Series A funding round led by Green Frontier Capital had previously raised $3.7 million for the Ahmednagar-based business.

According to a press release from KisanKonnect, the money will be utilized to improve its technological infrastructure, scale its business, increase its footprint in important urban markets, and make it possible to apply AI to supply chain and farm sourcing to increase efficacy and efficiency.

KisanKonnect, a farmer producer company with an integrated farming system that was co-founded in 2020 by Vivek and Nidhi Nirmal, provides customers with fair prices for fresh, hygienic fruits and vegetables that are sourced locally from more than 500 farms.

KisanKonnect asserts that since its founding in 2020, it has strengthened traditional agricultural trade by building a strong, technologically advanced supply chain for its vertically integrated company. By encouraging regenerative agriculture techniques and sustainable farming methods, the company has established a network of more than 5,000 farmers. A mobile app and an expanding network of “KisanKonnect Farm Stores” in Pune and Mumbai are used to distribute its fresh produce, which includes fruits, vegetables, and dairy products.

Fresh produce is becoming more and more popular, but so are KisanKonnect’s high-quality dairy products, which are produced from hormone- and antibiotic-free milk that is purchased straight from dairy farmers. The business stands out in the crowded fresh-commerce market thanks to its emphasis on quality and transparency.

Four years ago, KisanKonnect began with a 48-hour delivery model. Today, it delivers in Mumbai and Pune in 4-6 hours. Customers have responded favorably to the startup’s recent 30-minute delivery pilot program. With this ability, KisanKonnect is positioned as a significant player in the rapidly expanding quick-commerce market, expanding its consumer base and enabling farmers to take an active role in its expansion.
