Morocco’s Colis.ma raised $300K Pre-seed funding from Witamax

Witamax, a Moroccan private-backed venture capital firm, has contributed $300,000 to the pre-seed funding round of Colis.ma, a prominent Moroccan startup that specializes in cross-border logistics.

Colis plans to further expand on the African side, beginning with West Africa, and this funding will allow it to improve its coverage of the five largest regions of Morocco as well as six major European countries.

Colis.ma has grown rapidly since its founding in 2022 by CEO and founder Issam Darui. In less than two years, the company has delivered over 50,000 packages to more than 55 destinations in six European countries, and in the last 12 months, it has grown fivefold. Additionally, the company’s yearly recurring revenue increased by an astounding 380% in 2023 over 2022. Colis.ma provides quick, dependable, and effective parcel delivery services with the goal of revolutionizing logistics for both individuals and small-to-medium-sized businesses (SMEs). Colis.ma focuses on SMEs in industries like cosmetics, artisanal goods, and organic products as well as people with family ties between Morocco and Europe. Its goal is to link even more SMEs from different industries with their European clients and vice versa.

“We are extremely grateful to Witamax for supporting our vision from the start. This funding allows us to broaden our geographic coverage and further improve the quality of our services,” said Issam DARUI, CEO and founder of Colis. “Our goal is to become a key player in logistics between Africa and Europe, offering innovative technological solutions to a sector undergoing transformation.”

Colis collaborates with both traditional and unorganized transporters, among other partners. The startup helps its partners optimize their operations while guaranteeing a higher level of service quality for its clients by utilizing its in-house developed technological solutions.

“WITAMAX COMMENT” Hiba Mrani Alaoui, General Partner at Witamax: “Colis is thriving and well positioned to become an incumbent in this field.”

Colis had previously joined the accelerator program of The Baobab Network, an African investor, and raised $50,000 from them. Colis received a $45,000 grant in February 2024 after completing the Orange Corners program successfully. The startup had previously taken part in the Plug and Play Morocco Batch 4 Accelerator program in 2023. As a sign of Colis.ma’s potential to increase its market share in the logistics industry, a number of African and international venture capital firms have already indicated interest in participating in the company’s next fundraising round, which is set for early 2026.
