Tanzania to host sixth Ocean Innovation Africa summit in February
As the centerpiece event of Regenerative Ocean Week, the sixth Ocean Innovation Africa (OIA) summit will be held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, from February 24 to 28, 2025.
OIA2025, which will be co-organized with top partners like IUCN, GIZ, OceanHub Africa, Catalyze, and the Ocean-Climate Platform, is expected to be Africa’s most important platform for ocean innovation, conservation, and sustainable development in the blue economy.
African ocean innovators, investors, researchers, legislators, and community leaders will come together at the event to discuss workable solutions that can be implemented throughout the continent. With the theme “Science-to-Solution,” Regenerative Ocean Week will offer a series of workshops aimed at bridging the divide between community involvement, business innovation, policy, and scientific research.
The OIA Pitch Competition is one of these; it gives African startups and entrepreneurs a stage on which to present innovative concepts for ocean-impact solutions, connecting them with investors and business executives while highlighting Africa’s role in advancing sustainable ocean initiatives.
