Mouth freshener company JoySpoon raised additional Rs 56L Seed funding

In its current seed round, the mouth freshener company JoySpoon has raised Rs 56 lakhs, bringing its total funding to Rs 1.81 crore. CFOs Prateek Toshniwal, Abhinav Jain, and Ankit Jain of CoinDCX, PharmEasy, and other companies participated in the most recent round, which was led by Dishit Nathwani.

According to a press release from JoySpoon, the new funding will be utilized to grow its manufacturing plant in Ahmedabad, increase its visibility on popular quick commerce sites like Zepto, Swiggy Instamart, and BigBasket in major cities, and fortify its online presence on Amazon and Flipkart.

JoySpoon, which was co-founded in 2023 by Vaishali and Yash Mehta, provides a distinctive line of all-natural, low-sugar, and supari-free mouth fresheners that satisfy the need of contemporary consumers for healthier options. With prices for their various boxes starting at just Rs. 145, the brand’s packaging is also ideal for corporate gifting, wedding favors, and hampers.

The Indian mouth freshener market is expected to grow from its 2021 valuation of Rs 10,000 crore to Rs 27,491 crore by 2028, according to market research. The industry’s compound annual growth rate is 16%.

With an emphasis on taste and quality, JoySpoon seeks to reinvent Indian mouth fresheners, also referred to as mukhwas. The business sells contemporary, attractively packaged mukhwas devoid of artificial flavors and colors. It asserts that it introduced the first functionality-based mukhwas in India, which were carefully designed to address particular issues like digestion and acidity.

Beyond just providing healthier options, JoySpoon wants to establish a brand that celebrates tradition and modernity while empowering women. All of the employees at the company’s Ahmedabad manufacturing plant are women.
