Program for Pre-seed investments Madica publishes fundraising manual for early-stage entrepreneurs

An insight-led guidebook series for early-stage founders seeking funding has been released by Madica, a structured investment program for pre-seed African startups.
Madica, a pre-seed investment program with a focus on Africa, was established in 2022 with the goal of empowering underrepresented and underfunded mission-driven founders throughout the continent. Through funding and democratizing access to top-notch company-building support, the sector-neutral platform connected to Flourish Ventures seeks to empower entrepreneurs.
The insight-driven book Zero to Funded: A Founder’s Guide to Pre-Seed Fundraising in Africa combines actual viewpoints from VCs, investors, and ecosystem leaders in North, West, East, and Southern Africa. It is intended to be a useful tool for African entrepreneurs in their initial fundraising phases.
The 75-page guide helps founders, who frequently lack access to deep networks, accelerators, or prior fundraising experience, navigate their first raise. Important topics covered in the resource include how to manage Africa’s perceived risk and balance local realities with global expectations, as well as how to decide whether to raise funding in the first place. Myths and misconceptions that all too frequently sabotage early conversations with investors are also covered.
Additionally, the guide offers checklists, templates, and toolkits—useful tools that founders can immediately apply to their own fundraising campaigns. Interested parties can view and download the guidebook here.
