PV Sindhu led undisclosed funding raised by wellness brand Hoop
Olympian PV Sindhu has invested an amount not disclosed to wellness brand Hoop. The badminton champion has joined Hoop as an ambassador, so it appears that this is an equity against brand promotion.
Prior to this, in January 2023, the Gurgram-based business had raised $100,000 through a grant round. Hoop is supported by renowned angel investors including Rohit Kapoor, Abhinav Sinha, Naiyya Saggi, Suhail Sameer, and Shantanu Deshpande, among others, and has participated in the Peak XV Spark Program.
Hoop is a natural product company that was founded in 2022 by Twinkle Uppal and Saharsh Agarwal. It provides a variety of products for topical pain relief, muscle recovery, and sleep support. Both on its website and in marketplaces, its products for relief and recovery are offered.
Hoop states to have clients in more than 1,000 Indian cities, but it has not released data regarding monthly transactions or revenue.
Better Nutrition is a Greenday brand of biofortified staples that Sindhu invested an undisclosed sum in in January. Her investment portfolio comprises over twelve brands, such as the manufacturing company Bridgestone and the used car unicorn Spinny.
Market reports state that consumer wellness products are currently worth about $20 billion in India and are expanding at a rate of more than 15% annually.
