Sedna HoReCa raised Rs 50 Cr from Anicut Capital

In a new funding round headed by Anicut Capital, Sedna HoReCa, a business-to-business (B2B) platform for the hotel, restaurant, and catering (HoReCa) sector, has raised Rs 50 crore ($5.8 million).

Prior to this, the Hyderabad-based business had raised $1.44 million.

According to a press release from Sedna, the money raised will be used to create “India’s first integrated, technology-driven B2B solutions platform” for the HoReCa ecosystem, which will then spread to 20 cities over the course of the following year.

Sedna, which was co-founded in July 2022 by Saurabh Pandey and Mahadevan Narayanamoni, brings together distribution, software, and food product solutions in one location. The three verticals that make up its offering are ready-to-cook or ready-to-serve food products, commerce and distribution, and business-to-business software as a service.

BillNote, a point-of-sale (POS) system for cafes and restaurants, and SupplyNote, a popular inventory management program, are part of Sedna’s SaaS vertical. SupplyLink is a third- and fourth-party logistics (3PL/4PL) solution designed specifically for HoReCa businesses, and Vyap is a platform for supply distribution. High procurement costs, unpredictable supply chains, and inventory losses are some of the operational problems that these products are meant to address.

Sedna plans to enter the food market by providing ready-to-cook and ready-to-serve products to commercial kitchens, food courts, direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands, and HoReCa businesses. In Bengaluru, it is establishing a new food production facility and expanding HU’s current one.

With Sedna, the HoReCa industry will no longer have to deal with issues like rising purchase costs, unpredictable fill rates, lengthy lead times, and inventory loss from theft.
