Spiritual tech startup Utsav raised Rs 6.35 Cr
In a funding round headed by Equianimity Investments and including participation from its current investor India Quotient, the spiritual and devotional platform Utsav has raised Rs 6.35 crore.
In June 2023, the Kolkata-based business raised Rs 2 crore from India Quotient in a seed round.
According to a press release from Utsav, the money raised will be utilized to improve technology, hire skilled workers, and grow operations both domestically and abroad.
Utsav, which was co-founded in 2021 by Ankita De, Sourajit Basu, and Prajata Samanta, offers a virtual platform where users can schedule pujas, order prasad to be delivered to their homes, and speak with priests. It seeks to establish an online community around it and reach India’s large religious audience.
Among the many items that Utsav intends to sell are rudraksha malas, the Shani yantra from the Shani Shinganapur temple, and the Jyotirlinga from Triyambakeshwar. It seeks to transform the way individuals participate in religious ceremonies by fusing technology and tradition to increase accessibility to spiritual services.
Approximately three lakh organic website visits occur on its platform each month, according to Utsav. In northern, eastern, and western India, it has partnered with more than 60 temples; in less than a year, it hopes to have 100 temples in this network. Establishing a foothold in the South Indian market is another goal. Additionally, the startup plans to launch its e-commerce services in the upcoming months.
Other prominent players in this market include DevDham, Vama.app, AppsForBharat, Astrotalk, Astroyogi, and others.
