Sportstech platform str8bat raised $3.5 M Series A funding
In a Series A funding round led by Exfinity Venture Partners, the sportstech platform str8bat raised $3.5 million (roughly Rs 29.4 crore), with participation from TRTL, Eternal Capital, and VCats Group in addition to current investors Techstars and SucSEED Indovation Fund.
The Bengaluru-based business had previously raised $517K from both its current and new investors.
According to a press release from str8bat, the money raised will be utilized to improve athletes’ training and performance monitoring, especially cricket players.
str8bat is a company that was co-founded in 2017 by Madhusudan R, Rahul Nagar, and Gagan Daga. It creates wearables with sensors for cricket. Using an AI engine, its product evaluates the batsman’s stance, shot type, and movements. Additionally, the platform says it allows users to connect with world-class coaches.
str8bat has worked with organizations such as SG Cricket, Cricket Australia, and the Rajasthan Royals. In addition, the company has teamed up with SG Cricket to launch the “world’s first smart willow.” With the help of an Internet of Things gadget, this cricket bat can provide sophisticated shot tracking without the use of cameras, giving players of all skill levels access to useful data and advice.
Over a few million shots have reportedly been recorded by str8bat, and 400 top players are presently utilizing its platform. In five years, it hopes to have over a million players.
