Takeout restaurant Har Har Chicken! raised funding from East Ventures

The takeout restaurant Har Har Chicken!, situated in Singapore and known for its har cheong gai-focused menu, revealed that it has raised money, with East Ventures serving as the lead investor.

This funding, according to a statement from Har Har Chicken!, comes after the company’s recent launch on July 5, 2024, at Bishan, Junction 8.

To guarantee consistent quality for consumers, the majority of this funding will go toward supply chain optimization.

In addition, Har Har Chicken! wants to grow from its current location in Singapore, with plans to open three locations in total: Junction 8, Vivocity, and ION Orchard.

By 2025, it hopes to have more locations throughout Singapore, and in the near future, it hopes to grow regionally.

“The guidance and support from the East Ventures team was invaluable as we embarked on this entrepreneurial journey,

“We appreciate the shared conviction in the Har Har Chicken! brand, and look forward to a long and successful partnership,” said Bevin Desker, Chief Executive Officer of Har Har Chicken!

Bevin Desker, the Chief Executive Officer, Han Liguang, the Chief Product Officer, led the establishment of Har Har Chicken! Lennard Yeong, the Chief Marketing Officer, was a social media influencer in the food industry, and Tay Jianli, the Chief Operating Officer, had years of experience running restaurants.

Building approachable Singaporean food brands with the potential for regional scalability is the team’s goal.

It is reported that South and Southeast Asia have the fastest-growing poultry markets in the world, with a combined total growth forecast of 30% between 2023 and 2030, or 4% to 5% annual growth rate.

Southeast Asia’s fried chicken market, which includes Singapore, is expanding significantly as a result of rising consumer demand for quick meals.

Har Har Chicken! offers a variety of har cheong gai-focused dishes, including stand-alone wings, burgers, rice boxes, and more, building on the region’s shared love of fried chicken and familiarity with har cheong gai, or fermented prawn paste chicken. To provide the greatest amount of har cheong gai satisfaction, each comes fully furnished with sides.

“We are excited to support Har Har Chicken! which aims to bring an innovative twist to a beloved Singaporean dish,

“Har Har Chicken! is powered by a strong founding team, with each bringing unique prior experiences that we think will combine to great synergy in the food and beverage space. We look forward to their growth and success,” said Wesley Tay, Principal at East Ventures.
