There is need for special working group on start-ups and innovation: MoS Commerce at SCO meet
During her speech at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) conference, Minister of State (MoS) for Commerce Anupriya Patel suggested several steps to boost trade, including the formation of a special working group on start-ups and innovation.
At the 20th meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Ministers, she advocated for balanced and fair growth in trade and commerce.
According to the minister, collaboration in the sector of start-ups and innovation may be a focus point in helping economies recover from the pandemic’s impacts. She extended an invitation to all SCO member nations to attend India’s forthcoming Start-up Forum.
Patel drew attention to the enormous digital divide between rich and poor nations, urging them to close it by bolstering digital capabilities.
On environmental concerns, the minister emphasised the need for environmental preservation and mitigating the negative consequences of climate change, while also emphasising that the climate agenda should not include policies that create additional trade obstacles.
The Secretary-General of the SCO, as well as the chiefs of delegations from China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, participated in the virtual conference.
