To provide follow-on capital for portfolio startups, Antler secured US $300 M

Schroders, Vkstfonden, and Phoenix Group have all invested in Antler, a Singapore-based global early-stage venture capital firm.

While the VC firm’s primary emphasis will remain pre-seed investments, it will now begin giving follow-on funding to its portfolio businesses as they develop and scale up to Series C.

Antler is a Singapore-based venture capital firm that invests in startups, assists them in forming complementary co-founder teams, provides comprehensive business model validation, and provides a worldwide platform for expansion.

It has invested in over 350 firms in 30 different industries throughout the world so far. There is at least one female co-founder in 40% of them, and the founders come from 70 different countries.

The firm boasts a worldwide network of over 600 professional advisers, as well as an online platform with resources, tools, and support for its portfolio businesses, including introductions to international investors, hands-on help with new market entrance, and access to a global network of expert advisors.

HomeBase, Reebelo, Qashier, Volopay, Pathzero, Marco Financial, Xanpool, PowerX, and Xailient are among Antler’s current portfolio of companies.

Apart from Singapore, the company maintains offices in most major entrepreneurial centers across the world, including London, Berlin, Stockholm, New York, and Sydney.

It also stated that new partners Naman Budhdeo, Erik Jonsson, Jiho Kang, and Subir Lohani had been appointed to manage its new teams in Canada, Vietnam, Korea, and Indonesia, respectively. Lazada co-founder Martell Hardenberg, Teddy Himler, formerly of SoftBank, Stefan Jung, previously managing partner at Venturra Capital, and Navi Singh, a researcher at MIT’s Department of Mechanical Engineering, have formed a team to manage ongoing investments.

Antler also plans to invest in seed and Series A stage firms outside of its portfolio.

Antler stated in January of this year that it will invest $100 million in Indian companies over the following four years. From the concept stage to Series A and B, the fund will help exceptional founders.
