4. MyJobee is operational in both India and Zambia. How do cultural and economic differences affect your approach in these regions, and what insights have you gained so far?
Sujay Pidara: While there are many similarities in the basic operations of recruiting and applying, we have encountered different challenges and expectations in Zambia. For example:
- Due to the nature of industries and job demand, many jobs are based on daily wages and are often filled through walk-ins.
- Internet and electricity infrastructure is less stable in Zambia compared to India, impacting MyJobee’s operations and online accessibility for users.
- Decision-making within organizations tends to be more centralized at higher levels.
- There are fewer small businesses actively recruiting workers.
- Celebrities may play a larger and more effective role in offline marketing strategies.
These factors have required us to adapt our platform and approach to better serve the unique market dynamics in Zambia.
5. With over 550,000 mobile installs, what strategies did you implement to achieve such rapid growth, especially in a niche market?
