UAE’s Hala partners with MwaslaTech to expand into Egypt

With local partner MwaslaTech—a one-stop shop for shared mobility and smart transport solutions—Hala, the most convenient e-hailing taxi service in Dubai, has announced plans to enter the Egyptian market. The two parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Hala’s Dubai headquarters, formally establishing the partnership.

Senior executives from both companies, including CEOs of MwaslaTech and Hala, Khaled Nuseibeh and Yasser Sedky, attended the signing ceremony.

Hala has agreed to investigate the potential in other cities as well as the New Administrative Capital (NAC) of Egypt, a groundbreaking city project that has been under development since 2015 on the east side of Cairo. Hala wants to provide innovative travel experiences for its clients in Egypt by utilizing cutting-edge technologies and innovative solutions.

Commenting on Hala’s first venture outside the UAE, Khaled Nuseibeh, Chief Executive Officer at Hala said, “This is a proud moment for all of us at Hala as we pursue new and exciting opportunities beyond the UAE for the first time, and commence our ambitious expansion into the MENAT region. We are pleased to partner with a trusted industry leader, MwaslaTech, for this pivotal next step in our growth journey. Our experience and reputation for reliability in the UAE will enable us to deliver first-rate transportation solutions in Egypt. We are dedicated to delivering the same high standard of service excellence and innovation into this new market.”

In the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Hala has revolutionized transportation throughout Dubai and Ras Al Khaimah since its launch in 2019. How locals and visitors integrate e-hail services into their everyday commutes has changed dramatically thanks to Hala’s emphasis on dependability and improving the customer experience. Hala observed a 20% increase in new users signing up for the service in Q1 2024 as compared to the same period the previous year.

In order to further enhance the customer journey experience, Hala works with important partners to offer innovations to customers that enhance their daily lives, such as the introduction of digital screens in cars. Since January 2024, Hala has trained over 2,577 Captains to guarantee they receive ongoing technical support as well as ongoing education and training. The business, which has a reputation for efficiency and convenience, regularly meets the needs of its clients and delivers a flawless travel experience.
Hala wants to emulate and improve on its success in the United Arab Emirates by expanding into Egypt.

Commenting on the collaboration, Yasser Sedky, CEO of MwaslaTech, stated, “Partnering with Hala is a proud moment for us, leveraging our deep experience in Egypt’s public transport to launch an innovative taxi service. This initiative combines e-hailing with street-hailing, building on our proven track record in smart transport solutions tailored for Egyptian commuters. We’re set to redefine mobility standards and eagerly anticipate transforming Egypt’s transport sector alongside Hala.”

Hala will collaborate closely with the Egyptian government and private stakeholders, realizing the value of teamwork, to guarantee that the specific transportation requirements of Cairo commuters are met.
