VC fund for startups launched by Singapore’s Transport Capital
Transport Capital, a Singapore-based investment management business, has announced the formation of TC Ventures, a new venture capital arm.
The new fund will focus on entrepreneurs that can provide compelling answers to two major transportation challenges: decarbonization and digitalization. TC Ventures will use its strong experience in maritime and aviation to assist its investee firms to expand in addition to providing money.
TC Ventures has also announced investments in two overseas companies: Turtle (Germany) and Everimpact (Canada) (France). While Turtle is developing a digital employment marketplace for the marine industry, Everimpact is assisting in the battle against climate change by calculating carbon emissions and funding climate action.
“We believe that transportation by sea and air is at a multi-generational inflection point, with the need to decarbonize and digitalize dramatically accelerating,” said Joshua Politis, Deputy Managing Partner of Transport Capital and Chief Investment Officer of TC Ventures.
