Winners Fund II closed by VC firm Kae Capital for $50 M
Kae Capital, a locally based venture capital firm, closed its Winners Fund II with $50 million. In mid-2020, the fund was announced.
The fund has received investments from a number of investors, including Velo Partners, VM Thapar Family Office, Henry Kravis, co-founder and co-executive chairman of KKR, HealthKart founder Sameer Maheshwari, Max Healthcare founder Abhay Soi, and Prashant Tandon and Tanmay Saksena of Tata 1mg.
The venture fund intends to co-invest in Series B, C, and D rounds with growth-stage funds only in businesses that received funding from prior rounds.
Sasha Mirchandani established Kae Capital in 2012, focusing on pre-seed to pre-series A investments with initial checks ranging from $1 to $3 million. Out of its 81 portfolio startups, 14 have been exited, according to the venture capital firm.
Kae Capital is an early-stage investor in numerous well-known companies, including Tata 1mg, HealthKart, Nazara, Porter, and Zetwerk among others. Kae Capital has offices in Mumbai and Bengaluru.
With the Winners fund, Kae Capital, which has already invested in HealthKart, Wysa, Brightchamps, and Disprz, plans to make investments in 20 additional businesses.
