$5 M invested by Altara and others in Jakarta’s Klinik Pintar

The healthtech startup Klinik Pintar, based in Jakarta, has raised US $5 million in a series A1 funding round headed by Altara Ventures. Other investors included Skystar Capital, Venturra, and Golden Gate Ventures.

In 2018, Klinik Pintar—formerly known as Medigo—was founded. The company operates clinics that provide services like laboratory testing, immunizations, and doctor consultations on a full ownership and partnership basis. Through its software platform, it also assists in digitalizing the operations of independent clinics and works with businesses to provide healthcare benefits to their staff.

Media was informed by Klinik Pintar’s founder, Harya Bimo, that several of its partner clinics are now profitable. By 2025, Klinik Pintar hopes to have 100 clinics operating. Currently, it only has 23.

Furthermore, the business claimed that its management software is utilized by about 1,500 independent clinics throughout Indonesia. Over five percent of the archipelago’s clinics currently use the startup’s technology.

Klinik Pintar intends to create a new hybrid product that could “connect both of our SaaS and physical models,” in addition to growing its network of clinics, according to Bimo. The founder stated the business is testing the product and intends to release it in the upcoming year, but he did not elaborate on the hybrid model.

Klinik Pintar is well-positioned to benefit from Indonesia’s expanding healthcare market with its expansion efforts.

“By providing first- and third-party clinics with best-in-class tools, the company is well positioned to expand rapidly across Indonesia,” says Gavin Teo, general partner at Altara Ventures.
