Animoca Brands to invest $30 M in Web3 super app Hi

A blockchain gaming and NFT company based in Hong Kong, Animoca Brands, has declared that it will invest US $30 million in the Web3 super app Hi.

In order to integrate Hi’s services into the Animoca Brands ecosystem, this is a component of a strategic partnership. Through Hi Protocol, the two businesses intend to offer developers solutions for human identity proof.

Selected Animoca tokens like The Sandbox’s Sand will allow Hi’s users to make purchases and claim rewards.

Animoca Brands stated earlier this year that it hoped to raise about US$1 billion for a new fund targeted at Web3 and the metaverse. It oversaw the Nuqtah NFT marketplace’s seed round in March, which is based in Saudi Arabia.

Hi, meanwhile, claimed that since its founding in 2021, it has added 3.5 million sign-ups in more than 190 markets. It declared last year that it was creating a Mastercard-powered debit card product that would allow users to customize their NFT avatars, claiming that it would be the first of its kind.
