Sensos secured $20 M Series A funding from Magenta Venture Partners
Delivery delays, excessive inventory costs, and production interruptions are all consequences of supply chains’ persistent inefficiencies, even in the face of digitization.
Sony Semiconductor Israel’s spin-off Sensos seeks to solve that. Recent funding for the startup was US $20 million. financing headed by the Japanese trading company Mitsui’s investment partner, Magenta Venture Partners, an Israeli venture capital firm. Israel Cargo Logistics, Sumitomo Corporation, and JAL Ventures are also involved.
As the first disposable, globally connected cellular label, Sensos claims to deliver. The label, which is slightly bigger than a credit card, can be attached to a package and, among other things, does temperature monitoring, GPS-enabled location tracking, and sensor-enabled automated proof of delivery.
After merging those labels, the business uses AI-assisted control towers to gather and process data. Sensos allows businesses to optimize production, inventory, and shipping while cutting greenhouse gas emissions to comply with ESG regulations, according to Aviv Castro, CEO of the Tel Aviv-based startup.
In 2022, Sensos separated from Sony Semiconductor Israel. Customers like Bayer, Lufthansa, and DB Schenker are among its clients; use cases include consumer electronics, mission-critical shipments, cold chain life science products, and high-value goods.
