Nigeria edition launched by RevUp Women Initiative to boost female founders

The RevUp Women Initiative, which aims to empower women-led businesses through enterprise development, strategic mentorship, and funding access, has launched an edition in Nigeria in response to the success and impact of its first cohort.

The goal of the RevUp Women initiative is to empower female entrepreneurs throughout Africa. RevUp Women gives women the tools they need to launch and expand profitable businesses, promoting gender equality and economic growth through training, mentorship, and resource access.

With an emphasis on e-commerce and agribusiness, the initiative, which is hosted by AfriLabs and Visa Foundation, launched the RevUp Women Initiative: Nigeria Edition after completing its first program last year. It will assist 150 women-led businesses in Lagos, Abuja, and Abia.

Six exceptional participants will be given consideration for grant funding totaling US$24,000, which will be divided among the chosen awardees. Participants in the program will network with successful female entrepreneurs.

“We’ve seen firsthand how intentional support and access to the right tools and networks can shift the trajectory of women-led businesses, not just helping them survive but thrive. Through tailored capacity building, mentorship, and meaningful partnerships, we’ve watched ideas turn into impactful ventures. With this new phase, we are doubling down on both impact and inclusivity, ensuring that more women across Nigeria have the resources, visibility, and community they need to grow scalable, sustainable businesses and become key players in the innovation ecosystem,” said Nanko Madu, director of programme at AfriLabs.

Applications are open here until August 8.
