AI-native cap table and compliance platform launched by EquityList

To help businesses automate their equity management and compliance processes, platform for managing equity and shareholders EquityList has introduced an AI-native cap table and compliance operating system.

According to EquityList, the platform oversees over 80,000 stakeholders in 16 countries and over 650 companies with over $20 billion in shares. Tata Consumer Products, Swiggy, Angel One, Shiprocket, BlackBuck, BlueStone, Flipkart, Rapido, Slice, Sarvam, Tabby.ai, and Salla are some of its clients.

The new platform analyzes stock data, legal documents, filings, and cap tables using AI. It enables teams in charge of finance, HR, and compliance to automate repetitive activities and query data in plain English.

The tool can create equity awards, find compliance holes, and extract information like share classes from legal papers. Before any AI-assisted action appears in the cap table, it must be reviewed and approved by a human.

EquityList claims that their AI is integrated into the platform natively, with controls over authorized operations and data access. The business also emphasized its compliance with ISO 27001, SOC 2 Type II accreditation, and GDPR regulations.

A self-serve onboarding procedure that use AI to read financial information, cap tables, and legal documents is also part of the launch. Instead of manually entering the data, customers can examine and validate the information that has been collected.

According to the business, a deterministic engine based on its proprietary data models still powers the underlying cap table data and computations. AI provides automation and analysis on top of this framework.

EquityList intends to grow into corporate governance workflows and compliance automation, with adaptable procedures that require less human involvement.

In September 2023, EquityList raised $2.2 million in seed money from a number of angel investors, including AngelList India, Hustle Fund, Republic, Unpopular Ventures, Mana Ventures, Riverwalk Holdings, and Super Capital.
