At nation’s largest ICT show, 30 Kerala startups displayed their products

As the three-day Convergence India Expo 2023 came to a close in New Delhi, startups led by Kerala Startup Mission (KSUM) that were showcasing cutting-edge goods and services made significant gains by closing business deals, increasing their global visibility, and forming connections with business leaders and mentors.

Also present at the event were delegations from the Netherlands, Russia, the UK, Ireland, Poland, and Slovakia, all of which expressed a strong desire to work with KSUM.

According to a press release, a significant group of 30 startups, led by KSUM, took part in the March 27–29 expo at Pragati Maidan in this city, which showcased the newest technologies and innovations from the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) industry.

The initial rounds of interactions laid the foundation for future collaborations, which gave KSUM’s efforts to support and promote the nation’s startup ecosystem additional impetus.

At the expo, over 25 investor-level discussions were started to help the startup companies find potential investors, and about 85 discussions provided assurance for potential future collaborations. A KSUM-backed startup named Quadleo also had the chance to expand into Nepal.

A total of 1,000 people from 40 countries, including more than 200 start-ups from India, attended the annual event, which aimed to help startups promote their goods and services internationally and keep them up to date on the newest trends and technologies in the ICT sector.

In order to help participants stay ahead of the competition in the industry and create creative solutions to meet market demands, this edition of the expo, which attracted over 5000 visitors, featured a wide range of new products, services, and emerging technologies like 5G, AI, and IoT.

“The Kerala startup ecosystem made a deep impression at the event on account of the innovative products they have developed. The startups that participated in the expo will benefit substantially by attracting partners and investors who can further strengthen the ecosystem by providing funding and scale-up support”, KSUM CEO Anoop Ambika said.

The workshops, seminars, and interactive sessions with key stakeholders offered the startups valuable insights into market trends and best practices, he added. As a result, the Expo was also a learning experience for them.
