Dashamlabs raises Rs 12 Cr Seed funding led by Speciale Invest

The materials science firm Dashamlabs, which is at the forefront of developing high-performance silica aerogel insulation materials, has raised Rs 12 crore in a seed funding round led by Speciale Invest and including IIMA Ventures.
In order to validate and scale its aerogel products, Dashamlabs said in a press release that the money will be used to build pilot systems, increase its R&D and production capacity, and work with partners in the oil and gas, electric vehicle, defense, and construction industries.
The deep-tech materials company Dashamlabs was co-founded in 2024 by Ankit Jhanwar, Apoorv Balwani, and Devakar Dhingra. It produces flexible sheets and insulation materials based on silica-aerogel. The business creates insulation products that are lightweight, fireproof, and high-performing for use in infrastructure, mobility, and industry.
According to the Delhi-based startup, it can produce flexible silica aerogel sheets with high-temperature stability (from -150°C to 1000°C), hydrophobicity, fire resistance, and ultra-low thermal conductivity thanks to its proprietary technology. For scalable and economical mass production, the company is working to improve ethanol-based supercritical drying while moving toward ambient-pressure drying.
“We’re on a mission to make energy-efficient materials accessible across industries. By scaling advanced aerogels made in India, we aim to enable cleaner, safer, and more efficient technologies globally,” said Ankit Jhanwar, co-founder & CEO of Dashamlabs.
