Deeptech startup oorja raised $1.5 M Pre-series A funding from Anicut Capital, others
With participation from Capital-A, Java Capital, Anicut Capital, Lead Angels, and Micello Fund, deep tech startup oorja has raised $1.5 million in a pre-Series A funding round.
The company intends to use the money to develop its product and enter the North American and European markets.
Through its $10 million cleantech fund Evolve, early-stage focused fund Capital A made a strategic investment in oorja last year.
Oorja, a 2022 invention by Vineet Dravid, performs predictive modeling by combining physics and machine learning. It offers straightforward battery design solutions to manufacturers of electric vehicles, and its expertise is in making accurate battery life predictions, optimizing pack design, and reducing costs and time.
It is a component of the Indian Science Technology Engineering Facilities Map (ISTEM) program, claims oorja. Students from more than 800 colleges in India have access to the oorja application suite through ISTEM for research and instruction. The SISFS grant has also been given to oorja.
The Bengaluru-based business claims to have over 15 customers spread throughout Asia and Europe. CogKnit, Streamoid, Photom, Jumper.ai, Cognitifai, and others are notable deep tech businesses.
