MAARG portal for startup mentorship to be launched by Piyush Goyal

The MAARG platform (Mentoring, Advisory, Assistance, Resilience, and Growth) will be introduced by Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday. This platform will enable mentorship between startups and entrepreneurs across industries, stages, and roles.

“The matchmaking phase of the portal, which will be launched on the occasion, will allow startups to connect with mentors and discuss their mentorship needs,” the commerce and industry ministry said in a release on Friday.

Goyal will also reveal the National Startup Awards 2022 winners.

“The winning and finalist startups will benefit from the support extended for their business growth, mentorship, funding, partnerships, market access opportunities, that will further enable them to serve as a role model for other entrepreneurs,” the ministry said.

A monetary award of Rs 5 lakh will be presented to each of the winning startups. Additionally, two outstanding incubators and accelerators will receive cash prizes totaling Rs 15 lakh each.

The National Startup Awards 2022 requested proposals from seven special categories, 17 industries, and 50 subsectors. Industry 4.0 included the following sectors: Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Construction, Drinking Water, Education & Skill Development, Energy, Enterprise Technology, Environment, FinTech, Food Processing, Health & Wellness, Media and Entertainment, Industry 4.0, Security, Space, Transport, and Travel.

In the National Startup Awards 2020 and 2021, 367 businesses were named winners or finalists.
