Men’s ethnicwear brand Kisah raised Rs 13 Cr Pre-series A funding

In a pre-Series A funding round led by Wow! Momo founder Sagar Daryani, men’s ethnicwear company Kisah Apparels has raised Rs 13 crore (1.52 million), with Apoorv Salarpuria, Rahul Todi, Vinod Dugar, and Inflection Point Ventures also participating.
According to a press release from Kisah, the money raised will be used to increase its offline presence, scale up its direct-to-consumer (D2C) business, and make investments in brand development.
Kisah, which was co-founded in 2018 by Yash Sarawagi and Yashwi Ladasaria, provides Gen Z and millennials with affordable, high-end ethnic clothing. The Kolkata-based company is currently developing into an omnichannel brand after starting with a marketplace-first strategy. It currently runs two physical retail locations, and three more are planned for major Indian cities.
“E-commerce gave us pan-India reach and deep customer insights, which are now fueling our D2C and offline growth—backed by data, customer pull, and positive cash flow at the company level,” said Yash Sarawagi, co-founder and CEO of Kisah Apparels.
In order to improve supply chain efficiency, marketing campaigns, sourcing choices, and product design, Kisah also stated that it has developed internal systems to evaluate data from its marketplace and direct-to-consumer operations. According to the brand, it has increased from a run rate of 40–45 crore to over 100 crores, with positive operating cash flow and PAT.
