Paris-based Cuure secures €1.8 million to expand its personalised vitamin subscription box
Paris: Paris-based health startup Cuure has landed funding of around €1.8 million from Kima Ventures and Newfund Ventures. The fresh funds come at a time when personal health and immunity is certainly a priority for many citizens, and the trend of personalized healthcare is becoming more widespread and accessible.
Launched in early 2019, Cuure provides personalised food supplements via a monthly subscription. Users answer an online questionnaire and then receive 30 sachets each containing 2-8 food supplements to be taken daily. The monthly subscription can be canceled at any time, however the startup recommends giving it a try for 2 months to see an effect of the ‘cuure’. After two months, and then every month for those who continue the experience for longer, a new questionnaire must be completed in order to update the prescription. “The idea is to embrace the cycles of consumer needs. One of the objectives is also to be able to reinforce the monitoring experience, in particular via the application that we are developing, in order to optimize the efficiency of the treatment”, explained co-founder Hugo Facchin.
The startup’s unique point is that many traditional and long-standing competitors focus rather on larger sales to wider audiences, mainly in pharmacies, with no follow-up on whether the supplements are having a positive effect. In this sense, Cuure’s personalisation aspect is its key differentiator.
The fresh funds raised in this round will be put to use expanding the startups customer base from France to Europe, focusing first on Western Europe. The startup so far already has around 10,000 unique customers, and a small team of around 11, which it aims to keep headquartered in France.
The medium and long-term plan for the health tech startup is to expand further into the wellbeing sector, offering its customers personalised nutritional support and advice, potentially expanding also into the field of meditation.
