PE firms from Singapore collaborate to close $700 M tech fund

Two Singapore-based private equity companies, Capital Square Partners (CSP) and Basil Technology Partners (BTS), joined together to launch and close the US $700 million CSP Fund II for technology investments.

The new investment entity was sponsored by many international private equity companies, including HarbourVest, TPG NewQuest, and Committed Advisors.

Both businesses stated in a statement that CSP Fund II will be used to add businesses to their portfolios as well as to make new investments for other digital enterprises.

Executives from CSP and BTS, Sanjay Chakrabarty, Rajeev Srivastava, Mukesh Sharda, Bharat Rao, and Sameer Kanwar, will oversee the new fund.

Capital Square Partners, a company founded in 2014, has invested more than $500 million in innovation and commercial services across Southeast Asia and India.

Basi Technology Partners, which was founded six years before CSP, has closed investments for growth-stage digital businesses totaling over US $200 million.
