Sauce leads Seed funding round in preventive pain care startup betterhood

Preventive pain care startup betterhood has secured Rs 11.5 crore in seed funding in a round led by Sauce, with existing backer Kairon Capital also investing.
The Bengaluru-based company had previously raised Rs 5 crore as part of the same round in March this year. Kairon Capital led that tranche, which also saw participation from Yogesh Kabra, Rishubh Satiya, Rohit Chawla, Sifat Khurana and Shayamal Vallabhjee.
betterhood plans to deploy the new capital towards expanding its product range, strengthening distribution through quick-commerce platforms and modern retail, and growing its content and physiotherapist network, the company said in a press release.
Founded in October 2024 by Vikram Kadam and Neha Zade, betterhood is developing a preventive pain care brand designed to address early symptoms of back, neck and joint discomfort.
Its portfolio covers posture and ergonomic products, orthotic soft goods including supports for the back, knees, ankles and wrists, as well as products focused on pain relief and recovery.
The company cited market research estimating that these categories collectively represent an Indian market worth around Rs 20,000 crore, with growth in the low-to-mid teens.
Alongside its products, betterhood is developing Physio Circle, a pan-India physiotherapist community focused on educating people about posture, pain prevention, movement and recovery. The network currently includes over 7,000 physiotherapists, according to the company.
The startup has also introduced The Physio Edge, a certification initiative for early-career physiotherapists intended to address the gap between academic education and hands-on clinical practice.
Since starting operations, betterhood says it has served more than 2 lakh customers and produced 1,500 educational content pieces across various platforms, covering areas such as posture, pain prevention, movement and recovery.
Other recent investments in the space include Nivaan Care, which secured $7 million to expand its non-surgical clinics for chronic pain management. CURAPOD, a wearable pain management product developed by Litemed, raised Rs 20 crore in a pre-Series A round to scale its photobiomodulation-based technology. Heatronics, meanwhile, raised Rs 1.8 crore to develop its preventive pain management and heat therapy devices.
In 2025, Zanskar raised Rs 2.8 crore to broaden its pain care portfolio and fund R&D focused on chronic pain and recovery. Stance Health also secured $1 million to develop its technology-enabled musculoskeletal care model, which combines diagnosis, physiotherapy and recovery programmes.
