Seven startups selected by Pan-African e-health initiative i3 for its third program

Seven startups have been chosen to participate in Investing in Innovation Africa’s (i3) third program, which offers up to US $225,000 in funding and impact support to startups creating the healthcare supply chains of the future.

i3 is committed to helping promising early- and growth-stage businesses become commercialized. It is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and sponsored by MSD, Cencora, Endless Foundation, HELP Logistics, Sanofi’s Global Health Unit, and Chemonics.

Selected startups receive grant funding, customized investment readiness support from top accelerators Villgro Africa, IMPACT Lab, Startupbootcamp Afritech, and CcHUB, as well as introductions to top industry, donor, and government potential customers.

In an effort to revolutionize pharmacy services across the continent, i3 has now revealed its third cohort of seven growth-stage businesses. Cloud-based pharmacy systems, AI-powered prescription refills, inventory management, product protection, last-mile delivery, and embedded financing are just a few of the potent, tech-enabled solutions that the chosen startups provide to improve pharmacy services throughout Africa.

The selected startups are:

Collectively, they show how data-driven innovation propels economic growth while bolstering the robustness of Africa’s health systems. With operations in 19 nations throughout the continent, they demonstrate the ability of locally based, scalable solutions to enhance patient outcomes, generate employment, and facilitate more effective, data-driven healthcare delivery on a large scale.

In addition to customized customer introductions, customized deal facilitation, professional communications, and advocacy support, each startup will receive up to US$225,000 in risk-tolerant funding.

i3 seeks to influence agreements worth approximately US $30 million and facilitate about 150 strategic alliances between innovators and significant healthcare buyers. The cohort will also take part in i3’s premier Access to Markets event in December 2025, which aims to establish high-impact collaborations between innovators and major hospitals, governments, donors, and multilateral organizations.
