Sports-tech startup Gamepoint raises Rs 7 Cr in Pre-series A funding round

Gamepoint, a tech-enabled sports startup, has raised Rs 7 crore in pre-series funding. a funding round that was co-led by Aditya Vuchi and Raj P. Narayanam, the founders of Zaggle, with participation from Praveen Raju and others.

According to a press release from Gamepoint, the money raised will be utilized to improve its operational and technological capabilities as well as grow its network of multi-sport centers.

Aditya and Siddharth Reddy co-founded Gamepoint, which runs expertly run multi-sport facilities for individuals of all ages with the goal of making it easy for people to learn and play sports. In a clean and safe setting, the startup’s centers offer structured coaching programs for kids, flexible membership and pay-and-play options for adults, and complete sports event management services for businesses.

International-standard courts and fields, specialized coaching programs, membership plans, and on-site sports stores are all features of the Hyderabad-based startup’s facilities.It targets a “neighborhood sports center” model and operates through a combination of owned and possibly franchised centers.

With facilities for sports like badminton, basketball, pickleball, squash, football, cricket, table tennis, and swimming, Gamepoint runs a network of multi-sport facilities in Hyderabad and Warangal.

The company intends to expand to over 300 locations in Tier I and Tier II cities as well as metro areas over the course of the next five years, allowing one crore Indians to participate in sports. It claims to have organized more than 700 sporting events, trained more than 12,000 students, and allowed over 3 lakh people to participate in sports.

It competes either directly or indirectly with other players in this market, including Huddl, Machaxi, KheloMore, and Premier Badminton Coaching Academy.
