Sportstech startup StepOut raised $500K Seed funding

Rainmatter, which was started by Nithin Kamath, CEO of Zerodha, led the $500,000 seed round for StepOut, an Indian startup that focuses on sports performance analysis and ecosystem technologies.

Misfits Capital, Marwah Sports Group, and IndigoEdge also participated in the round.

With a remote AI-powered SaaS setup that requires only uploading a video, StepOut’s platform, which was founded by Jeet Karmakar and Sayak Ghosh, saves 80% of time and effort by automating the laborious manual data collection process that has historically been handled by coaches and analysts.

To guarantee 99% data accuracy, the platform helps identify players and records every action on the field.

Rayo Vallecano of La Liga and AFC Ajax of the Eredivisie are two teams that StepOut currently collaborates with.

UEFA, AFC Ajax, The FA, KNVB, and City Football Group host the prestigious Reimagine Football competition, which the brand claims to have won, making it the first Asian tech company to do so.
