Nestlings grants $250,000 in scholarships, launches a free student counselling service in India
With the opening of their Bengaluru office, Nestlings, a cloud-based AI platform located in Silicon Valley, California, inaugurated its first location outside of the United States.
Nestlings is a one-stop solution that connects students with higher education universities abroad and within the country, student loans, scholarships, internships, placements, and visa assistance – all on a single platform, and the services are completely free for students. It was co-founded by a Bengaluru couple living in California, Rajashekar Basavaraju and Sowmya Satish.
It’s also providing a total grant of $250,000 to the first few candidates, as well as free IELTS and GRE instruction to the first 100 students who sign up.
“The idea of providing a 360-degree service for the students germinated from our personal experience where we had to struggle to get information and had to apply separately for each of the institutes and there was no proper guidance. After a successful stint in the USA, we thought of helping students from our motherland,” said Sowmya, CEO Nestlings, and a former Apple Product employee.
Nestlings will cater to thousands of students from Karnataka who are interested in pursuing further education and career-ready internships, according to Karnataka IT Minister Dr CN Ashwath Narayan, who officially launched the India operations.
“I think it is a boon for the students who wish to pursue higher studies or looking for internships at premium institutes. I had earlier said that we will involve private institutions for job placement for our students and this is the way in the right direction. We are also looking at making Karnataka the preferred destination for education as we have some of the best colleges and universities in the country,” he said.
Nestlings now has over 50,000 students on its site and has worked with over 300 colleges, including a premium collaboration with one of Southeast Asia’s leading student loan providers and testing centres.
