Through an eight-month program, OceanHub Africa accelerates six startups

The fourth cohort of OceanHub Africa has come to a close with a bootcamp for the six startups that took part in the eight-month accelerator program.

In order to combat global warming, overfishing, and ocean pollution, OceanHub Africa supports and nurtures environmentally responsible, for-profit businesses.

Its accelerator program, which has just finished its fourth edition, links these startups with a network of highly qualified stakeholders and facilitators and offers them sustainable routes to stable profits and scalable growth opportunities across Africa.

Six startups, including Kuza Freezer from Kenya, Healthy Seaweed Co. from Tanzania, Reef Pulse from Reunion, ReNile from Egypt, Tunisia Baits from Tunisia, and Akili from South Africa, took part in its most recent program.

The eight months were spent developing personally, creating new products, and growing businesses in order to position ventures for investment opportunities. It was completed with a physical bootcamp in Cape Town earlier this month, where the six startups participated in a week of intensive training designed to hasten their progress toward investor readiness and long-term company growth. On the bootcamp’s last day, participating startups presented their breakthroughs and made pitches for potential funding in front of a mock investment panel.
