To support expansion, Ghana’s Complete Farmer raises $2.5 M from EU funded AgriFI facility

The European Union-funded AgriFI facility has contributed US $2.5 million to Ghana’s Complete Farmer, an end-to-end digital agricultural marketplace that links African farmers and international industries to competitive markets, resources, data, and one another on a single platform.
Complete Farmer was established in 2017 and provides two primary solutions for farmers and purchasers of agricultural commodities.
Its product geared toward farmers CF Grower uses data-driven cultivation protocols and precision farming tools to help African farmers increase their output, access international markets, and enhance their standard of living. Contrarily, CF Buyer offers consumers worldwide dependable and simple access to commodities cultivated to their exacting standards.
The startup has now obtained US$2.5 million from the AgriFI facility, which is run by EDFI Management Company, after raising US$10.4 million in pre-Series A funding back in September 2023. In accordance with the regional priorities of the AgriFI Ghana Country Window, the investment will support the company’s ongoing growth and the establishment of fulfillment centers in Ghana’s five northern regions.
With an emphasis on the northern parts of the nation, the EU funding will help build six new fulfillment centers, which are hubs for aggregation, quality control, and logistics. The program intends to boost rural employment, raise incomes, and shorten value chains by investing in areas with limited access to markets and agricultural infrastructure. This will help the EU achieve its larger development goals while also serving more than 5,000 farmers.
“Partnering with European Union funded AgriFI strengthens our mission to create a more resilient agricultural sector in West Africa,” said Desmond Koney, CEO of Complete Farmer. “We believe technology can empower farmers and buyers alike – and with this support, we can reach thousands more with the tools and market access they need.”
