Twelve startups selected for Kenya’s third Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship

The third cohort of the Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship has chosen twelve Kenyan startups.
The Mastercard Foundation EdTech Fellowship is an entrepreneurship acceleration program that was introduced in 2019 and provides funding to promising ed-tech businesses in Africa. It offers vital financial, educational, and business support to help ed-tech companies grow, become sustainable, and make a bigger impact.
Numerous businesses in Nigeria, South Africa, and Kenya have already benefited from the six-month program, which was recently extended to Egypt.
Ed-tech companies will strive to improve their products, expand their market reach, and increase their influence throughout Kenya’s educational systems during the six-month acceleration period. They will also receive post-program advisory support for up to 12 months and equity-free funding of up to $100,000 USD.
“Welcoming our third cohort is a proud moment for us. The innovative solutions of these startups are shaping the future of learning in Africa. This year’s selection process was more competitive than ever, as we intentionally sought ventures with not only strong potential but also embraced gender diversity. Our mission remains unchanged: to equip young people with the mindset and tools they need to thrive in a rapidly changing world. This new cohort is actively building a future defined by transformative learning and sustainable prosperity across the continent,” said Nissi Madu, managing partner at iHub Kenya.
