Kenya’s Cleantech Innovation Competition 2026 now accepting applications

The Cleantech Innovation Competition, which gives Kenyan university and TVET students the chance to create and present creative solutions to environmental problems, is now accepting applications.

The Kenya Climate Innovation Center (KCIC), the Swiss Embassy in Kenya, SICPA, and affiliated organizations collaborated to create the Cleantech Innovation Competition. It promotes cutting-edge cleantech concepts and innovations that could solve regional environmental issues and advance Kenya’s green economy.

Accelerator support for business development and expansion, funding and financing opportunities, skill development and capacity building, industry expert mentoring, networking with peers and industry partners, and chances to present cutting-edge cleantech solutions are all available to chosen participants.

Kenyan university and TVET students who have creative ideas or early-stage solutions aimed at tackling environmental issues in the fields of agriculture, waste management, commercial forestry, water and sanitation, renewable energy and energy efficiency, and climate and environmental sustainability are eligible to compete.
