$102k grant program launched by DeveloPPP Ventures for Kenya, Tanzania startups
DeveloPPP Ventures is giving startups in Kenya and Tanzania the chance to expand their impact-driven businesses in exchange for a grant investment of up to EUR100,000 (US $102,000).
Developed by DEG Impulse and sponsored by Seedstars, develoPPP Ventures intends to provide funding and entrepreneurial assistance to businesses on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
Startups in Kenya and Tanzania with novel business strategies and a long-term positive impact on the economies, ecosystems, or social conditions of these nations are eligible to apply for the program’s open call for the fourth cohort. According to BMZ’s emphasis on empowering women, the initiative specifically encourages entrepreneurs run by women and those who support gender equality to apply.
Startups submitting should have a proof of concept and be prepared to scale, as the award is intended for growth investments.
“We come across so many exciting solutions to local and global challenges to leave no doubt that a social and ecological transformation is possible and already happening. Helping the most impactful startups walk through the valley of death and enable them to reach more people and attract other investors is at the core of our program,” said Julia Stausberg-Umuerri of DEG Impulse.
Up until December 31st, applications are welcome.
