Agritech firm Cropin received Rs 113 Crores funding from Google, others
Cropin, an agritech company, has received Rs 113 crore in investment from ABC Impact, Chiratae Ventures, Google, and JSR Corporation in addition to previous backers ABC Impact and JSR Corporation. The money will help Cropin Cloud, the business’ recently established cloud platform for intelligent agriculture, grow in order to meet the rising need for digitisation and predictive intelligence in the global agriculture sector.
With the help of this round of investment, Cropin will be able to intensify its marketing initiatives and increase the functionality of the Cropin Cloud, particularly by creating cutting-edge predictive intelligence products through Cropin AI Labs.
Every acre of arable land in the world should have access to predictive intelligence, according to Cropin AI Labs. Additionally, Cropin intends to increase the scope of its commercial operations in new geographies and sectors, with a particular emphasis on developing solutions that advance sustainable agricultural methods and comprehensively solve problems with global food security.
Climate change, food hunger, supply chain disruptions, and geopolitical conflicts are just a few of the serious problems that the world’s food system is currently facing, which underscore its fundamental weaknesses. To fulfill domestic demand and decrease food waste, governments and businesses in the agriculture and food industries are looking for ways to boost production, efficiency, and income. Cropin wants to assist governments, development organisations, and agri-food companies in transforming and building a safe and sustainable food valuechain via the use of its strategic technological solutions.
Krishna Kumar, Co-Founder & CEO, Cropin said in a statement, “The involvement of new strategic investors like Google and JSR Corporation, and the support of our existing investors demonstrates confidence in our mission and impact. We are excited to partner with global technology innovators like Google, which further validates our capabilities and solidifies our position as a leader in the digitalisation of global agriculture”.
Sugandhi Matta, Chief Impact Officer at ABC Impact, said in a statement, “We are pleased that Cropin’s efforts to address global food challenges through technology continue to gain traction.
