$15 M Series A funding raised by cybersecurity firm Blackpanda
According to a release, Primavera Venture Partners and Gaw Capital Partners led a $15 million Series A investment round for the Singapore-based cybersecurity company Blackpanda.
The business will utilize the funding to accelerate the development of its cybersecurity services, such as digital forensics and incident response, as well as to expand beyond Asia.
The investment also included early-to-growth stage investor WI Harper from the United States.
Blackpanda, a company that was founded in 2015, has offices in Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Manila, and San Francisco. It also intends to expand throughout Asia. To date, it has received money totaling $23 million.
Risk and security professionals with expertise in worldwide military special forces, intelligence, forensics, and law enforcement lead the organization.
“Nearly half of all Singapore businesses suffered a cyberattack in 2021. A business owner wouldn’t open a physical office without any access to firefighters. Yet chances of a fire are only 1 out of 2,000 for businesses, while a cyberattack is an incredible 1 out of 5,” said Blackpanda CEO Gene Yu.
