Sequoia’s Surge led $2.8 M Seed funding raised by PixCap
Childhood passions for elaborate animations and video game art included CJ Looi and Cyril Nie. When they established PixCap, a web-based 3D design platform, in 2020, they pursued their dream till it became a reality.
In a seed round headed by Sequoia’s Surge and included Cocoon Capital, Entrepreneur First, and angel investor Michael Gryseels, the Singaporean company just raised US $2.8 million.
With PixCap’s browser-based editor, designers can quickly create 3D designs by selecting one of the hundreds of themes.
“As brands shift towards 3D design for app banners, social media ads, and landing pages, having easy-to-use 3D design tools at their fingertips will allow designers and marketers to create attractive and engaging visuals to support brand growth,” said Looi, who’s also CEO of PixCap.
By 2025, it is anticipated that the global market for 3D mapping and modeling would have grown from US $3.8 billion.
As PixCap strives to enter international markets, the cash will be used to expand its technical and marketing teams and advance product development.
More than 30,000 people use PixCap, which is available in more than 60 nations, including the US, India, the UK, and markets in Southeast Asia.
