River launches ‘India E-Scooter’
Bengaluru-based startup River launched its new e-scooter product ‘Indie’ today.
Speaking on the launch, Aravind Mani Co-Founder & CEO, River stated, “We launched Indie, the first product from River. Indie is a bold statement, combining two different offerings — utility and lifestyle. It will be the most sensible scooter with the right mix of practicality, capability and style.”
The Indie is reportedly the first ever electric scooter with 14 inches wheels at both ends with a telescopic front, 2 shock absorbers with many other features. It is a rugged scooter and has been called the SUV of scooters. The Indie e-scooter can be charged up to 80 percent in 5 hours with a standard electric vehicle charger. The company claims that the scooter gives real world mileage of 120 km through a battery pack of 4kWh.
Mani further added, “The Indie will bring a new design offering with many unique features such as the largest storage space of 55-litres (43 litre boot space and 12 litre glove box).
The design of the e-scooter is such that it caters to individuals with different heights, consisting of the longest and widest seat providing comfort to riders. Featuring twin beam headlamps with a tail lamp design to give the e-scooter a distinct look. To prevent the e-scooter from falling, the company has fitted clip on handlebar for easier handling and stability which further shielding the scooter panels in case of a fall.
The deliveries of the e-scooters are set to begin from the month of August 2023 and will be priced at Rs 1.25 lakh.
