Western Cape Digital Business Technology and Innovation Support Fund invite applications
The Business Technology & Innovation Support Fund, established by the Western Cape’s Department of Economic Development and Tourism (DEDAT), is now accepting applications. Its goal is to address the issue of low productivity in Western Cape businesses and surpass global benchmarks by promoting digital transformation and adopting new technologies.
Through strong corporate, governmental, and community innovation, the Western Cape Government’s Growth for Jobs Strategy aims to establish the province as Africa’s hub for technology, finance, innovation, and design.
“The competitiveness of the Western Cape in a future, digitally transformed world will depend on the ability of the technology and innovation sector to contribute more significantly to the digital transformation of enterprises and to create jobs and economic value through the establishment and development of digital businesses – from startups to scale-ups to corporates,” a statement read.
“The approach to drive up productivity improvements through technology adoption in Western Cape firms, along with the complementary business/management support across the province is multifaceted.”
A fund has been established by DEDATs’ Business Technology & Innovation Programme for Productivity Boost to support initiatives in two categories: those of individual businesses and those of intermediaries providing business support programs.
