Applications now accepted for 14th Orange Social Venture Prize in Africa, Middle East
In order to promote social innovation and entrepreneurship, applications are now being accepted for the 14th Orange Social Venture Prize (OSVP) in Africa and the Middle East.
Since 2011, the OSVP has awarded creative startup projects in Africa and the Middle East that leverage and create new technologies to improve the region’s e-commerce, education, healthcare, agriculture, and environmental sectors.
Candidates from the 17 nations that make up the Orange footprint in the region may submit entries for the prize’s 14th edition, which consists of two phases.
Applications will be accepted at the national level until May, at which point three winners from each of the 17 subsidiaries will be chosen. These winners will then advance to the international stage, where 10 finalists will be selected for the International Grand Prize and five for the International Women’s Prize.
From among the 15 projects chosen by Orange Group employees, a final jury comprised of prominent figures in the tech and entrepreneurship worlds in Africa and the Middle East will then select the three winners of the International Grand Prize and the OSVP International Women’s Prize in October.
A total of EUR25,000 (US $27,000) will be given to the first prize winner, EUR15,000 (US $16,000) to the second prize winner, EUR10,000 (US $11,000) to the third prize winner, and EUR20,000 (US $22,000) to the International Women’s Prize winner.
Applications are accepted till May 24.
