Maiden fund launched by Volt VC to back pre-seed startups
With the goal of filling the gap in pre-seed funding and giving startups all over India vital resources, micro venture capital firm Volt VC has opened its first fund, Volt VC Fund-1.
The goal of Volt VC Fund-1, a Category II Alternative Investment Fund (AIF) registered with SEBI, is to raise Rs 45 crore for its corpus. A new generation of creators and entrepreneurs aiming to build strong, customer-focused businesses across a range of sectors, especially in D2C, B2C, and B2B2C models, will be assisted by the fund, which will focus investments in creative, consumer-centric startups at the pre-seed stage.
The funds will invest between Rs 50 lakhs and Rs 2 crore in roughly 20–25 startups at the pre-seed stage, according to Volt VC.
Volt VC was founded by Param Patel and offers support for branding, product development, market research, fundraising tactics, and access to a large network of specialists in various fields. The company wants to foster innovation in startups and encourage entrepreneurship in Gujarat and throughout India.
Within the next three to four months, the Ahmedabad-based company hopes to close its first fund. Within the next 12 months, the firm intends to increase its participation in super early-stage investments by funding promising startups in a range of industries.
