Tunisian payments startup Konnect raised funding from Renew Capital

In order to expand, the Tunisian startup Konnect, a payment gateway that is leading the way in North Africa in digital payment solutions, has obtained funding from Renew Capital.

Established in 2021 and licensed by the Central Bank of Tunisia, Konnect provides e-commerce plugins, a strong API, and smooth payment links to suit companies of all kinds.

Its services are designed to improve online payments, guaranteeing speedy, safe, and effective transactions that facilitate business expansion and streamline e-commerce exchanges.

The startup has obtained an undisclosed sum of money from Renew Capital, an impact investment firm with a focus on Africa that is making its first investment in Tunisia. The money will go toward helping Konnect expand its business.

In order to make safe and effective financial services more widely available, Konnect is spearheading the region’s transition to digital payments through important alliances, such as a strategic partnership with Visa.

“We’ve built Konnect to make digital payments more accessible, secure and user-friendly,” said Amin Ben Abderrahman, founder of Konnect. “Our platform supports both individuals and businesses, allowing them to manage their payments with ease. We’re excited to continue expanding across North Africa and providing innovative financial services that cater to the needs of underserved communities.”

Konnect is establishing a new benchmark for digital payments in the area, according to Karim Ben Fadhel, investment ecosystem development manager at Renew Capital.

“Their platform not only simplifies financial transactions but also opens doors for greater financial inclusion. We’re proud to support Amin and his team as they lead the way in expanding access to secure and scalable payment solutions,” he said.
